The Facility is a 650 kilowatt hydroelectric generation facility located on the Du Sud River near Saint-Raphaël-de-Bellechasse, approximately 40 kilometers east of Québec City. The site was originally developed in the late 1700`s as a sawmill, and later, in the early 1900`s as a flourmill, it was not until September 15, 1993 that the structure was commissioned as a hydroelectric facility by Énergie DLS Inc. The powerhouse building is estimated to be approximately 230 years old.

The run-of-the-river facility consists of a concrete gravity dam and spillway that spans the river, an intake, two penstocks, stone masonry powerhouse and a tailrace canal.

Under the power purchase agreement, Hydro-Québec has agreed to purchase all power made available. The agreement is for a 20 years, commencing September 15, 1993, which was the commissioning date of the facility.
