Kayuta Lake Hydroelectric Generating Facility is
rated at 400 kilowatts and has a head of 4.6 metres. The facility
is located on the Black River at the outlet of Kayuta Lake. The
site is immediately upstream of the Forestport facility, in the
Town of Boonville. The site was developed at an existing concrete
control structure at the outlet of Kayuta Lake. It is a run-of-the-river
facility with a configuration very similar to the Adams and Cranberry
Lake facilities. The powerhouse is built around an ESAC bulb-type
turbine generator set located adjacent to the dam. The facility
interconnects with the utility grid immediately at the facility
fence.
