| The Lakeport Facility is a 600 kilowatt hydroelectric
generating facility located on the Winnipesaukee River near the
Town of Lakeport, New Hampshire. The facility consists of a dam,
three penstocks, powerhouse and tailrace structures and is designed
and operated as a run-of-the-river facility. The facility was constructed
in 1984 at the site of an existing concrete dam which was rebuilt
to facilitate the generating facility.
In 1985, the NHPUC approved a rate order which requires PSNH to
purchase the entire electrical output from the Lakeport Facility
at specified rates. The amount payable is based on an energy payment
plus a capacity payment. The term of the rate order is for a period
of 20 years commencing September 1, 1985 and expires in September
2005.
