| The Saint Raphaël Facility is located on the
Rivière du Sud on the south shore of the St-Lawrence Seaway,
approximately 30 minutes from Québec City. The site was
formerly developed by Hydro-Québec, and was rehabilitated
in January 1994. The civil works include construction of a 2.1
km penstock,
fed through a siphon-type system. The facility is rated at 3,500
kilowatts and utilizes a head of over 60 meters. There are 3 Francis
Turbines and 1 Pump Turbine.
The term of the power purchase agreements is 20 years from commercial
start-up date. The agreement expires in 2013, with a contemplated
renewal for an additional 20 years.
